Lady Luck smiled on Pappas in her 40s, and she became a national award-winning successful entrepreneur who mentored hundreds of employees and thousands of customers. After failing retirement in her 50s, Pappas escaped her second unsatisfying marriage by moving to Africa and founding a charity. It helped over 100,000 highly marginalized people through initiatives in Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Functional Adult Literacy, Reproductive Health, Women Empowerment, Environment, and Orphans and Vulnerable Children. Pappas met and married the "love of her life" online in her 60s, and now, in her 70s, she has the time and mind-space to identify patterns and extract lessons from her wild and unusual life.
