The Man Who Found the Doll Under the Streetlight on Alder Avenue

February 2023, a dead-end street in Westhaven, Massachusetts. Luna's cousin Danny finds a small cloth doll propped against the base of a streetlight on Alder Avenue. The doll is handmade, stained dark at the hem, and sewn shut at the mouth. Danny leaves it. But the next night, it's closer to his door. And the night after that, it's sitting on his porch. When he finally opens the stitching, he finds a piece of paper inside with a name and a date from 1987.
