The Master Communicator – David Shadbolt

Have you ever heard God speak in a riddle or a pun? God is a masterful communicator with a great sense of wit and humour! We see God’s communicative ability from the beauty of creation. The same God who breathed diversity and creativity into the natural world continues to speak with the same qualities by his Spirit. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.” (Psalm 19:1-2) On this podcast episode, Tania talks to pastor and prophet, David Shadbolt, a minister from the UK who is passionate about communication with both God and people. In this episode, David shares his experience of Holy Spirit’s creativity, including: His first experience of hearing God’s voice and the simple advice of his mentor, “read the Bible, listen to God and ask what you should do.” His insights about the importance of having the freedom to step out and explore what Holy Spirit is saying. The importance of hearing God in the small things of our lives. “God speaks into the context of our lives. Most of the time, God speaks about simple and small things, but the small can become extraordinary in the hands of our God.” The power of the prophetic Spirit who reveals the secret of our hearts and we learn that God is really among us (1 Corinthians 14:25) “When God reveals the secrets of our hearts, we realise that God is no longer just historical – the God of the dusty Bible – he is also one living among us.” Some wild and creative God conversation stories that involved riddles and puns.
