The Matt Duffin Show - Lynn Julian, Actress, Model & Boston Strong

from Z Z Archive 2016 · host Brain Injury Radio

Our continuing saga’s of women with TBI’s who have made it their decision to give back to life, not watch it go by continues with Actress, Model, Singer, Songwriter  Lynn Julian, of Boston.  Like former guest Sharen Wendy, she’s Boston Strong!  Surviving her second TBI at the 2013 Boston Marathon finish line explosion, previous a 2006 stage accident caused initial TBI.  You may have rocked her songs as Cookie Cutter Girl, a Superhero in 21st Century’s “Girl Power Pop” shows.  “On 4.15.2013, I survived the Boston Marathon attack, along with my boyfriend of 13 years, escaping with a painful, chronic low back injury, frontal lobe brain injury, hearing loss, extreme tinnitus and severe PTSD.  I trained to run for the 1st time, having never run at all in my life, struggling with daily, severe, chronic pain and panic attacks.  I finished 2014 Boston Marathon, and was named one of the "Most Inspirational Women to Ever Run The" Boston Marathon by SELF MAGAZINE,  and Most Resilient by MORE MAGAZINE.  My 6lb Service Dog is also a Boston Marathon Survivor.  I believe he is the only "animal survivor," and he was left him afraid of sudden or loud noises.  Her daily struggle’s with chronic pain inspired me to volunteer as the Director of Medical Marijuana Advocacy for Leaftopia, also the Massachusetts Ambassador for the US Pain Foundation, on the Advisory Panel of the MA Resiliency Center.  Her message is one of INSPIRATION and HOPE. (Now you can see why she’s on TMDS).   “I fought my way out of that wheelchair, and I fought my way across that finish line.  If I can do it, so can you. Never give up HOPE!” 424  243-9540
