We then spoke briefly about R' Chaim of Volozhin's model of mitoch she'lo lishmah ba lishmah as it pertains to tefilah. Then we continued our investigation of the question of why we switch back and forth in our berachos between 2nd person and 3rd person, learning the views of Rabbeinu Bachya and the Machzor Vitry.
