The Meaning of Life

Morning Mantra: "The meaning of life is to experience, to create, and to love, in whatever way is yours."

We often wonder, "What is the meaning of my life?"  I found the following definition somewhere- sorry I can't remember where- and it stuck with me. I hope you find it helpful.

Life is about creating. Making things that didn’t exist before – quilts, music, friendships, ideas, moments. It’s the act of saying, “I was here. “

Life is about connection. People are wired for each other. Even when it’s messy. Even when it’s confusing. The most meaningful moments humans have- our joy, our grief and love- most always involve someone else.

Life is about noticing. Whatever consciousness is, it’s this astonishing lens that lets you witness beauty in the small things; whether it be the patterns in old barn wood, the beauty of a dogwood bloom, or the whiskers on a cat.  The meaning is often paying attention.

Life is about the moments where you feel fully alive. For some, it’s applause. For some, it’s silence. For some, it’s the first green leaf on a sampling they started from a seed. For others it’s the first ray of sunshine on the horizon. It's whatever makes YOU feel.

Life’s meaning isn’t one big answer – it’s a mosaic of tiny ones.
