from Curiosophy: A Future Forward Cast. Hosted by Future Center Ventures, Mark M. Whelan
Journey into the fascinating science of how ideas spread, replicate, and evolve through human culture. In this series, we explore Susan Blackmore and Richard Dawkins's groundbreaking work on memes - not just internet jokes, but the fundamental units of cultural transmission that shape our societies, beliefs, and behaviors. Each episode investigates how memes compete, evolve, and influence human development, from the emergence of language to the spread of religious beliefs. Through engaging stories and expert interviews, we'll examine how ideas "infect" minds, why some cultural practices persist despite being harmful, and how memes interact with our genetic evolution to make us uniquely human. Perfect for anyone curious about the science of cultural evolution, the power of ideas, and what makes humans such extraordinary imitators.
