The Memoirs of Joseph Smith lll p.31-34

Chapter 4 continued where Joseph Smith lll shares his opinions and memories of George A Smith, Charles C Rich, Amasa Lyman, John Taylor, Parley P Pratt, and Orson Pratt and a conversation with Orson Pratt 1876, and with Orson Pratt's wife on another visit to Salt Lake City. Joseph Smith lll relates that Orson Pratt was controlled and manipulated my Brigham Young to retract a testimony made at the stand about the correct copying of The Inspired Version he had been sent by the Reorganised Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. Joseph Smith lll knew that allegations had been made about his dad Joseph Smith Junior having been associated with Orson Pratt's wife and he questioned her about it and she cleared Joseph Smith Junior's name stating the allegations were untrue and that she was neither a spiritual wife or poligamous wife to him and that he had never acted inappropriately. This chapter is a strong chapter against Brigham Young and one to pray about as the the meaning of this ... that if Brigham Young lied, and allowed lies to be forwarded in the church, that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is in my opinion in need of a rehaul for truth to be unearthed and lies to be put right and that the Church was abducted and fed lies, and no longer carried the truth with it that the modern church needs to admit the dark history and put it straight to retain membership and respect.
