Chapter 4 comprises of Joseph Smith lll sharing information of gifts to him as a boy from Brigham Young and George Albert Smith and Newel K Whitney of a gun, a knife and a desk. Joseph Smith lll shares his thoughts and memories of Brigham Young, John C Bennett, John E Page, and Heber C Kimball... he distinctly had an aversion to Heber C Kimball as a boy and told his dad Joseph Smith Junior and Joseph Smith lll recollects his dad asking him how he made him feel and Joseph responded by screwing up his face and such like to which Joseph Smith Junior laughed. Later after Joseph Smith Junior had died, Emma Smith was quite poor and Joseph Smith lll shares a story of Heber C kimball robbing his mum of a winter shawl that he was meant to return to her or give money for, instead he exodused with it along with others leaving Nauvoo and a kind non member followed across after Heber C Kimball to retrieve it as Emma needed it for income. Trades on the gun and knife were made, the knife was traded for a large rolling pin which Emma was thrilled with and used til her death and Joseph Smith lll says after his mothers death he concluded it was being used by the women his step dad married after her death.
