The Mesozoic, the kingdom of dinosaurs with the paleontologist at the Zaragoza, the Dr. Miguel Moreno. Prog. 169. LFDLC

With the collaboration of students from British College of Gava Miguel Moreno-Azanza I am a paleontologist with a geologist background. I got my PhD in the University of Zaragoza, studying the eggs of the crocodiles and dinosaurs that lived in Aragón around 140 Million years ago. My interests include Mesozoic vertebrate paleontology and biomineralization, (the formation of mineralized tissues by organisms). I specialized in fossil eggs and eggshells, with special emphasis in dinosaur eggshell growth and classification. My skills include the use of several analytical techniques, such us optical and electron microscopy. I am also an enthusiast of Cladistic analysis, the use of computers for the classification of life, which allows me to have a taste of several vertebrate groups, mostly from the Mesozoic of my home region, Aragón. I have described and named two types of fossil eggs, one dinosaur, two crocodylomorphs and two small mammals that lived at the feet of the huge dinosaurs. Currently I am working at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, studying several dinosaurs nests that contain embryos, to try to reveal if dinosaurs took care of their hatchlings, or if dinosaur babies were born ready to live without parental care.
