The Metal Forge - 346 - Riastrad

Riastrad was established in 2010 in Portland, Oregon, when guitarist Damion Lazzara collaborated with drummer Peter Bordokoff to record what would become the "Driving Into the Sun" EP. Following the recording, Peter was unable to continue with the project, but a mutual friend introduced Damion to drummer Lance Paden. Lance subsequently brought guitarist Justin Romito and bassist/vocalist Ryan Thomas into the fold, completing the lineup for the EP. This configuration performed together from 2011 to 2013; however, internal conflicts ultimately led to the band's dissolution.Fast forward to 2022, as the global COVID-19 pandemic began to subside, Lance reached out to Damion to reconnect and jam. After several sessions, they decided to revive Riastrad, enlisting Paige Parker on vocals, based on a recommendation from a mutual friend, and Todd Dehart on bass.
