Raised on a farm just outside Carrollton, KY, Jared began playing guitar at the age of 17.  His early influences consisted mainly of radio rock and ‘70’s country tunes, but quickly expanded during his college years where he discovered punk rock, doom metal, and basically everything that existed beyond terrestrial radio.  Some of his influences include Tom Petty, Social Distortion, The Mountain Goats, AJJ, Mercyful Fate, Murder by Death, Sleep, Roky Erickson, Slim Whitman, Cory Branan, John Prine, Discharge, The Devil Dogs, and Kris Kristofferson.  Jared currently plays rythem guitar and sings in The Breaklights; plays guitar in Rize the Dead; sings back-up and plays guitar in Deacons of Doom; and sings back-up and plays bass in Sunnyside Shake-up.  Previously he played bass and/or guitar in Order of the Fang, The Ice Cream Socialist Party, Beer Rotation, and Audio Diversity.
