The Michael Calderin Show featuring Diana Guzman, Therapist and Author!

Diana Guzman was born in Cuba and moved to the United States when she was just fifteen years old. As a single mom of two, Diana pursued the American dream by putting herself through college, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Barry University and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is also a Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP) and a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI). Diana is also an educator and currently teaches as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Barry University and ASA College.  With several years of experience treating addictions, trauma, and mental health disorders, Diana believes in developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with all her clients. Diana is an advocate for women’s freedom of expression, their ability to enjoy simple pleasures, and their right to embrace a sexual awakening. Diana has been writing poetry since she was fifteen years old, using it as an outlet to express herself while exploring themes of femininity and sexuality. She is often inspired by a single word, phrase, or image, which she births into a full expressive poem. Diana uses poetry to stand up for women and to encourage them to use their authentic voice, seeking out their own personal freedom to know who they really are. She believes in allowing our feelings to be fully felt, to be embraced without judgment, no matter if they are “good or bad”, “pretty or ugly.” Diana’s book "RAW" published in September 2017, aims to break down the stigmas and barriers surrounding women. Diana believes that no woman should have to pick and adhere to any label that pleases society, but rather every woman should get to embody everything they feel and are meant to be.
