Retired NYPD Chief of Patrol Nicholas Estavillo is a former member of the New York City Police Department, who became a New York City Police Officer in 1968, and retired in 2007. In 2002, Chief Nicholas Estavillo became the first Hispanic, and the first Puerto Rican, in the history of the NYPD to reach the three star rank of Chief of Patrol. Chief Estavillo is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy. Chief Estavillo is a Vietnam Veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps 1964-1967.  In 2003, Chief Estavillo was named National Grand Marshal of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City.
