On July 28, 2017, Gallup reported a poll that found a surprising increase in the number of Americans who found polygamy to be "morally acceptable." At 17% in 2017, this number was up 3 percentage points from the year before in 2016, and it was up 10 percentage points from the decade before in 2007. Not only that, but these poll results occurred despite the fact that the US Supreme Court had declined (in the previous January, 2017) to even hear the appeal of the Brown v.
