The Military's Last Stand Against the Monsters Review

from Gore And Grime Podcast Reviews · host Gore And Grime Podcast

2021 low-budget creature feature Monsters of War?If that’s the one, it’s a classic UK-produced indie B-movie directed by Jack Peter Mundy and written/produced by the prolific micro-budget horror duo Scott Jeffrey and Rhys Frake-Waterfield (the team behind Jagged Edge Productions and ITN Distribution, who also brought us the Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey universe). The BreakdownThe Plot: After a massive earthquake, a group of survivors hides out in a house/cave system, only to realize the tremor opened a rift to an alternate dimension (or awakened underground threats, depending on which marketing synopsis you read). The Chaos: It turns into a total kitchen-sink creature feature. Instead of sticking to one monster, they throw a giant Gorilla, a T-Rex, massive spiders, and various other prehistoric abominations at the screen. The Vibe: It's a heavy-talking indie piece with brief interstitials of CGI monster madness. It stars a lot of familiar faces from the UK indie horror circuit, including Chelsea Greenwood, Chrissie Wunna, and Sofia Lacey. This is a public episode.
