These experiences are then observed and reported through the lens of the personal self. The personal self (mind) wants to understand what happened. It wants to conceptualize that which lies beyond concepts, which is impossible. By entertaining these thoughts the attention is pulled into identification with the personal 'me', which begins seeking and trying to re-create experiences. In order to abide as the True self in a lasting way, what is required is to be aware of these mind movements when they appear and not engage with them. This allows the attention to remain unattached and stabilized as pure, impersonal awareness.Louise Kay holds group events and retreats online and around the world. For more details visit http://www.louisekay.net/
