Prayer can easily shrink to personal needs and familiar people. Paul urges Christians to pray for everyone, including rulers, so peaceful conditions may allow the gospel to spread without hindrance. This hope rests on one God and one mediator, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a ransom for all. God genuinely desires people to be saved, yet only His grace enables anyone to believe in Christ.
