When ministry meets resistance, fighting fire with fire can seem easier than patient faithfulness. Paul directs Timothy instead to shape his speech and conduct by godliness, teach Scripture carefully, use God’s gift, and keep working diligently. Life and teaching belong together. Salvation comes only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection, yet God brings that grace to hearers through faithful lives and sound teaching.
