We’re returning to retrospectives this week on Sneople at the Movies with a look into a year that set the stage for what 80’s cinema would become - 1984! Matty and Helena start off with a typical distracted discussion of theater etiquette before getting back on track to go over notable films of the year (spoiler: there’s a lot!) and contrasting that list with what ended up being nominated for Oscars. In a twist that may not surprise you, there’s less overlap then you would hope. They end the episode with a deep dive into Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, because they are nothing if not true to themselves. Also, Matty gets distracted so thinking about Spock that forget they’re recording a podcast and Helena gives out some blanket behavior permissions for you theater-goers out there.
