Top of your podcast today is the Mitzvah sisters. These were sisters of the Kardashians of their day, Colonel in Great Britain. Did I have to do a big booty? I did have the big booty.
I don't know, but they were known for being very controversial. They were members of English, aristocracy, and they're kind of political Ruby. So one of them actually ends up having this intimate relationship with her, her name is. Brandies, yeah, brandies.
So we're going to talk about the Mitzvah sisters before we do that. And remind you, we are a comedy podcast. We use adult language. So with adult language, it's a fancy.

I was going to say she was on assignment in North Korea. But then I didn't know what would believe that. But she has good friends with Kim. Yeah, she has good friends with Kim.
She's taller than number. Yeah, good friends. Well, she'd be much taller than if it went for his hair. That's true.
That's true. So, Brannie's not with her. How was your holiday, girl? Well, Timmy Mahalade was interesting to him.
I had all the boys on. OK, you had a Taylor and Tanner and Logan. And now the boys are getting older. And they're becoming, I think, more like their dad.
And they're a little less intolerant of people, too. A less tolerant number. We're not different for your toddlers. And my wife decided to take them shopping with her mother.
Your mother-in-law. My mother-in-law, who's a wretched woman. Just a truly wretched woman to me. You know, everything's that.
I don't believe that. Imagine a devil on steroids when it's too fake to me. And hungry at the same time. That's how my mother-in-law is.
And she has this way of just picking at you. Just picking at you. So the boys come through the door. And I didn't hurt a fence.
Renee could have done a lot better. Yeah, for a mother. Yeah. So anyway, Renee and the boys come through the door.
And the boys are kind of giggling. Renee is just, she's smoking. She's got smoke coming off of it. What was wrong?
Well, that's what I asked her. And she said, ask your son. Well, being in my three boys idiots, I don't know which one to ask. You know where it is there?
Which one of you did in Taylor? And her Tanner and Logan immediately pointed the Taylor. So I said, what happened? And he said, I just, I don't know what happened.
And I said, what did he walk me through what happened? And he said, hold the time. We were shopping. You know how Grandma makes?
Because the thing is Tanner is clearly grandma's favorite. OK, OK. So she'll make little remarks to Taylor. And whatever.
And Taylor was, she finally asked Taylor about his job. And he said everything. He's not very well. He's got a band.
He's got a job at real estate company writing for them. Anyway, she asked him about the job. And then asked him about the rest of it. But anyway, she finally said the wrong thing to him.
What is she saying? I believe she kind of, she said something that his, well, couldn't you have got that job without a collar? Tanner has two degrees to go. Right.
And he said, I don't know. He says, right. He has a degree in English degree in philosophy. And she said, do you want Squardoo's years and to get that job?
And that was just the last thing for Taylor. And Taylor said, I'd blacked out. I don't remember it. But in the middle of Macy's, Taylor said, fuck you, Grandma.
Three words that you rarely hear in combination, especially Christmas time. Well, they probably hear more Christmas time. But he just blurted out, fuck you, Grandma. Oh, sorry.
I got her name, please. But she was not pleased. Then the next night, I'll go, the whole family comes over. Family comes over.
And Renee's mom is complaining about the pasta salad that Renee makes her love the pasta salad. But she don't like onions. So I'm sitting on the couch. And she's in the dining room.
And she said, oh, I wish they would put onions in this pasta salad. I love this pasta salad. So I just yelled for my couch. Fuck you, Grandma, pick them out.
Oh, so you are. I'm sure we love that as well. She was not as amused as the boys. The rest of the family.
Yeah, you guys have a fun. It sounds like about holidays. We do. Grandma didn't have all that fun, but fuck her.
You can only get one more with her. I get along well with her as long as she remembers the place. Nice. All right.
We're talking, speaking of families, we're going to talk about it pretty strongly, girl. And we're talking about the story, the mid-ford sister. You're talking about the same thing. I'm ready to meet.
All right. This is a history. History related topic. We can't do anything.
No, she just doesn't. She likes to focus on the serial killers and the more morbid, the younger side of human nature. Yeah. So I think she's a perverse real from it.
I think that she is like whacking all the girls. I think that's sexual. All right. The mid-ford sisters, remember, the English aristocracy.
And we become, as I said, the Kardashians other day. They were six sisters in all. They grew up in the early 20th century. They would become all become involved with very powerful men.
They were kind of political movies. Mm-hmm. Two sisters would have gone on to become a selling authors. There was only one boy born in this family.
And he was a middle child. His name was Tom. He ended up being killed during the Second World War fighting in Burma. I would want to fight.
I would want to be a killed in Burma. I'd be a killed in Burma. Do I want to be landing on a beach as a normal victim? Yeah.
I'm not landing. Because he was fascist. So yeah, they put him in the agent there. But I mean in Burma.
I actually walked across the borders in the northern Thailand. And we were at this point. They called it Golden Triangle because it was Laos, Cambodia, and Burma, Myanmar. It was now now, comes together.
And I was kind of walking across the border and came back just because this was like I didn't remember. But anyway, he died in Burma. But the sisters achieved notoriety for their controversial, the stylish lives as young people. So as I said, it kind of like a Kardashian.
They probably had big butts. But they had big models, that's for sure. And they were known for the, as I said, for being involved with powerful men. And then very diverse family.
One was a devoted communist. And that's why the rest were devoted fascists. So we can match up there. They call Christmas holidays.
Things coming in Christmas holidays are like around the old dining room table. For the sake of this podcast, we're going to focus on three of the more controversial sisters. Diana, who was not the oldest of the six, was oldest of the three. She would marry the leader of UK fascist party.
So there's something you can grab. Jessica, who was the one younger than, actually just as a young, she turned her back on her whole family and become a communist. And Unity, a bit further than one in the middle daughter, would end up moving to Germany and become a devoted Nazi Nazi and had a fair bit of faith. So quite a family colonel.
Well, I think I'm going to say this is something you won't read in history books. You're going to be on the inside. We know we wouldn't pick up people. You know, Hitler, they've written so much about it.
But the thing that they don't have a right body, there was a lady, man. It was a lady, man. And it was, it was the mustache, you know. That one was my stash.
That one was my stash, Jimmy. They used to call it the collector. That little brushy. And then they used to call the ladies.
You used to call him, political. I didn't know it. No, it would be like, how could I? How could I?
That's why I was there. That's why I was there. That's why I wouldn't let any of them in the Nazi body. I kind of must say, because he was saving that particular.
It was probably good for that mustache if you were in Germany. And you can wait on the mustache today. I think he killed that thing. He killed that guy.
He killed that guy. Yeah. There's so many. You know, if you watch the history channel, it's like Hitler channel and all that, all that, all that.
Yeah. And you know, you know, that's where he had one day I was watching it. And they had to show one day he was a drug addict. The next day, the next show came on.
He was homosexual. And then the show after that, he was a mad addict and asexual. And then they had to show him where he was banging all these women. So I think pretty much is considered he's considered to be an asexual.
He liked women that don't only like, what was right? He said, she don't even stuff. And he didn't have, of course, Mary Davis-Brawn. But he will come up with a marriage.
Yeah. I'm so. Yeah. He had these weird relationships.
I get a relationship with his niece. All the women that Hitler has been around, he'll just be like, why? Because he does that particular thing. He does the click on.
How do you get a computer with that? I just like, you know what? That would have reached a pinnacle. I'm just going like that.
Yeah. I mean, you can grow one of those big bushy beers. That little brush. Yeah.
Well, he had his niece that he had his weird relationship with. She ended up doing herself. Of course they were wrong at the end of my girl's she killed herself. And now, the lady we're going to talk about today, Unity, Mifford, we ended up killing herself.
And also with his kind of. And he should have locked me some of the joke. But anyway, let's get to the little background on this Mifford family. The girl's father was David Freeman at Mifford.
He was the second Baron of Rizdale. I don't know what that means. But I never can understand. I can understand the British aristocracy.
I don't understand. I know there's words and barons and ladies and things. I can never understand how it works. But anyway, he was married to one of the name Sidney Bowles.
I wonder if you were in relation to two of the bookables. I wonder if she looked like a sea climb. I don't know. They were actually related to Churchill.
They were like, because of the different girls. Oh really? I thought you would. I thought Churchill would be your kind of guy.
I went to see Marcus Hour. It was actually pretty good. I don't know how his work was. I was pretty good.
I'm not a big jerk fan because I never wanted to tell you about. He's like, never made a word in life. But I will say, I think he was the right person in the right time right place. And then when he was, they got rid of his ass.
He was a war. He was over. When he was wrong, he was really wrong. But he was a very handy guy.
Well, he didn't fear anything. He warned about the Nazis. And I think he was the right person in the right time. But you're right.
The war was over. I think even I had a look at that. I think it was like even in 1945. It was like, oh, right after the war was over.
They were like, we're doing it. Yeah. The right of books now. Anyway, the family was related to Churchill.
David was a member of the House of Lords. They kept a pretty low profile as a member of that chamber. That chamber he was a bit eccentric. And was prone to fit the rage.
That's one of our three records. And our ghost. And so he was a large landowner. He was not really wealthy.
And it's funny too. Diana, she lived to be almost 100 years old. I saw interview with her on YouTube. It was like in 1980s.
And she still is. She still is. She still was a student. But anyway, she described the family as a poor rich family.
So in other words, they were wealthy compared to the average person. In a circles Iranian, they were considered poor. They were a family census. But anyway, they were seven children in all.
And seven miles to feed. And of course, servants. You have servants to pay. They could not maintain the expense of his large home.
They had a large home in New England. So he bought his other manner called the Ask Home Honor. And his family moved there. And the family was pretty much isolated.
The kids were homeschooled. And they did really social lines with any of the people in their body. They did socialize some with their soccer seat though. But in terms of people in the village, they had very little interaction.
He was disappointed that they only had one son. He had a family. The kids they had, seven children only went son. David did not believe in formal education.
So all his daughters and sons were homeschooled by a governess. When you were going up. I had a governess. He was a formal education.
And I said to him about it. I was going off. So some of the smartest people I know don't have formal education. Well, the thing with them was, though, they were well-known.
They read a lot and they were educated. But they missed the social interactions of going school. Yeah. And they were just standing on the estate in rural area.
And the family pretty much kept themselves. So these kids, these daughters were always competing with each other. Because normally you're going to school standing on your own clats. You're competing against other kids or developing relationships with children.
They just had each other. As they became more engaged though in British social circles. I'm sure you travel in some pretty... I'm actually kind of hanging out in the...
Oh, are you talking about that? I'm talking about these. They were like, are you going to travel in? No, they travel in.
They travel in. They travel in circles. Oh, yeah. I run into them.
That's all right. I'm sure you've got to... I thought we had a role in it. You know, it's people can often confuse me a bit.
Oh, really. I never... I was like, one at a pocket. Those are the pockets, guys.
Which ones have been? Which ones have you talked about that? They've always been similar to kind of local life. I do not know who's been staking me as his date or if he's taken Rosie.
Yeah. But she says, why? Yeah, that was for him. No, that's for him.
Yeah. I'm sure we're going to be a coin flip. So anyway, they started engaging in British social circles. I said they were relative.
Actually, two of the girls would go on... You know how this aristocracy is. It's like they're all... They were related to...
They were related to... They were not married. The cousins, one was... As I said, one would include an nephew of Winston Churchill.
I said they were related to the four. And the other one was related to another... Promenant. That's why I got that.
They all got that homophilia to me. And that's the role family. I'm a female. Like I said, the girls were fiercely competitive with one another.
And this was a turn at four throughout the daughter. And we'll kind of get into that and get into these stories. The girls grew up in early 20th century, where they would become well known in often photographs. And they would be kind of famous for being famous.
And they would be kind of famous for being famous. Not like you, the girl they didn't deserve. They didn't earn their things. I've earned my fame a hard way to do that.
But they didn't. And brainy's kind of famous for being famous. And famous for baby haterness. And they were infamous really.
Yeah. Yeah. And famous for exactly. Absolutely.
And not in that. In the late 1930s, with the rise of Mussolini and Italy, and Brady's a friend, Adolf Hitler and Germany. I think Brady was good friends about me too. She's calling me anything.
Big Ben. Yeah. I'll do change. I think that's what she calls me.
And she was, of course, brainy's good friends with her. The children became enamored with acid, fascism, and were openly anti-Semitic. So these are very lovely girls. Yeah.
Just openly anti-Semitic. Exactly. The one exception was the youngest daughter, Jessica. And she would only come out of the voted communist.
Well, you know, they were the first family. They were very diverse. The daughter he was considered the most attractive was the middle daughter, Diana Mifford. In 1928, at the age of 18, she became engaged to married.
Brian Walter, yes, of the Guinness Irishman. Yeah, he was Irish, aristocrat, and heir to the Guinness of Brewing Fortune. So she did pretty well for her. Yeah, but she apparently didn't like marriage.
She got bored pretty quickly. But anyway, initially her parents were opposed to the engagement. But they went ahead and got married anyway. And then the family kind of accepted it when they found out how much money he had.
Oh, don't change my mind. Yeah, so he was just loaded. The marriage was a short live, however. They moved on to an estate in Chicago.
She was a young, you know, she was a young, you know, she was a king of shoes. She just got bored pretty quickly. She started out in a fair with a guy by the name of Sir Oswald Mosley. And this guy is an innocent character.
He was a member of parliament. He actually had time, the youngest member of parliament. But he was designed his post to found and lead the British Union of fascist girls. So she knows how to pick him.
And this guy is, he actually was, I told you, I was going to see, Marcus, and this guy's actually mentioned in this. He had a cause in 1940 when Germany would invade, British Islands. They were afraid that this leader of the British Union of fascist is a Mosley guy would be installed. If there was an invasion in Germany to over, they would install this guy kind of as a puppet.
We should have killed him. Well, we'll get to that. Now, I know that this is before the war, right? This is when early in the early years started too.
She fell in the land, and told me she was willing to walk away from her marriage and wealthy lifestyle to be with him. And so, in a fair, he was married at the time, mostly was. And he refused to leave his wife for Diana. But Diana left her husband for him anyway.
So she wanted to make him a fortune, got a crappy apartment just to be near this Mosley character. Yeah, I'm going to leave the guy. But first of all, you're married to a Guinness. The guys are rich.
All of you want. You might have had a tiny wiener too. He's maybe that's it. Although, I think was fascist at finally.
I believe it comes with a mistake. That's why you gave him all the things. That's why you gave him all the things. That's why you gave him all the things.
That's why you gave him a tiny wiener. Wasn't going up for the ladies, but he wasn't on the trick. So in 1933, so she leaves her husband to just kind of be near this Mosley character. In 1933, she was fake with him.
Mosley's wife dies. So she dies unexpectedly. And so Diana thinks, okay, now his wife is dead. I should be in good pretty shape.
Well, he starts dating his dad's wife's number sister. So he fucked over a little bit. But she was persistent. She stayed with it, and eventually Mosley and Diana became a couple in 1934.
And they would end up getting married. This strained a relationship with Mosley and Diana and her sisters, especially with Jessica the devout communists, which are hated fascists. But the other sister, Unity, she became fascinated with the fascist movement. And there's even rumors that Unity and Mosley had in the fair.
So this is all fucked up. In 1936, Diana and Mosley were married in London. So she was now married to the top fascist in Great Britain. Meanwhile, Diana's sister, she and her sisters, Unity and Jessica, we're developing their own political awareness.
At 16, Unity became enamored with the new German Chancellor Eddall Hitler from afar, just my new children didn't know him at that point. And as I said, Jessica became a committed communist. They shared a room in her home. And on Unity side of the room, it was decorated with swastikas and photos of Hitler.
And she was like, Randy's. She got the big three in there. It was solving the whole pot. So once I this room, these girls share Unity side.
Just once it goes photos of Hitler and such. Well, on Jessica's side of the room, it was painted red and covered with a huge hammer and sickle. Doesn't seem like that just ever had a bad juju in it. It has that.
It's not like picking out which of the new kids on the block that you like. It's Hitler or Stalin. So anyway, initially the girls' discussions with politics seemed just like a bit of a zooming rivalry. But as I went on, the girls would discover their political interest would have real-world implications.
So we're going to talk about lots. Jessica, the youngest, the young, is the name for her family and for their opulence lifestyle. So she kind of turned it away from the belt. She was a communist.
She had communist leans. And she became known as the rich. And by the time she was 11, she was already compositing her weekly allowance into a savings account that she called her running away fund, a fund that she would eventually use to run away. In 1937, when she was 19 years old, Jessica ran away with her cousin by the name of Edmond Romany.
Edmond Romany was the nephew by Mary Jobins in Churchill. And I can't see Winston being really happy with these girls' choices. It's a point. Yeah, Edmond was the age of the fastest.
I can't see him being really supportive of these choices. But anyway, Jessica and Edmond fell madly in love. And he looked to Spain. The two joint forces joined the anti-fascist forces who were fighting Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War.
Romany picked up work as a reporter and work correspondent for the news chronicle. So she runs away from home when she was 19. She walks with this valves family, runs away with her cousin, and joins the communist cause in the Spanish Civil War. After seeing the atrocities committed by Franco in Spain, Jessica spoke out against fascism and spoke out against her sister Diana, who at this point married to the leading fascist in Great Britain, mostly.
So after the war, after the Spanish Civil War, Jessica and Edmond moved to London and lived in East End in a mostly war industrial area. Although back in England, Jessica refused to have any contact with her sisters or brother Tom. Tom was actually able to say it was also about it, fascist. Jessica gave birth at home to a daughter, Julia Decca, Romany.
December 20, 1937, the baby died of the Mieso epidemic, the following May. And the Miesos were spreading throughout this basically slum that they were living in. And had she, you know, she got the money, she lived in the role part of England with her family. She wrote about her father.
Well, just got a vaccination to me. Meanwhile, our friend Unity continued to be enthralled with Nazi Germany. And this is late 30s now. And with Adolf Hitler, because Diana says when it was ahead of the British fascist party, he and Diana were invited to Germany, by Hitler, by the Nazi party.
And they invited Unity to join him. That's probably what I was going to say. You can see this trend right now. You know, you know, you know, you don't even have to know the story.
It's attractive like 19-year-old girl, you're going with the older sister, I mean, just like me. Anyway, Unity went with Diana and her brother-in-law. If you're able to Germany as part of the British delegation from the British Union of Fascist, to the 1933 Nuremberg rally where she saw his sister, his father, for the first time. And if you want to press, I want to take her to the Nuremberg rally.
That was a big deal. Anyway, Unity would later say the first time she saw anything that Hitler knew there was no one in the world that she would rather meet. I think she wrote a song. Thank you, you're not even here.
So 19-year-old, 19-year-old Unity meant for a developer plan to stop the Führer. That sounds like one of his technopops. Stop the Führer. Stop the Führer.

Unity told her father that she wanted to study German. I don't know what I want to study German. Yeah. And he paid for her to travel to Munich and enroll into a language school in Munich.
I've been in Munich. I've been in Munich and I've been in Munich. I've been in Munich and I've been very beautiful, but it's not a whole lot going on in Munich. But I didn't see where the field would be off your off.
Push. Good. I was having a push. Unity rented a flat near 19-year-old not to say quarters.
As of course, every young woman would know. Yeah. Unity learned that Hitler loved dining at a restaurant called the Asteria Bavaria in Munich. And every day she was sitting in a cafe waiting for him to come to the restaurant.
At first she was seen there. She was smiling him and he would smell back. After about 10 months of this Hitler finally asked one of his aides who he was and they informed him that she was an English aristocrat whose family was sympathetic to the Reich. And Hitler invited her to his table.
They had lunch. They talked about over 30 minutes. And Hitler came up with a check. So when he said Hitler was not a cheat man.
No, he was not a cheat tire. No. He was probably a paid the bill. But Hitler was a terrible tip.
You know, I read that because all of Germany's, Germany's post-distant stamp said Hitler's face on it. He got paid. He got paid. And in like every school was required to teach my cop.
And he got wrong. He got wrong with his wife. So anyway, Unity was beside herself with excitement. Of course to me.
And she wrote her later home for her father. And she said it's the most wonderful one. Most beautiful day of my life. I'm so happy that I wouldn't mind a bit dying right now.
What was she going to be able to do with that? I suppose I am the luckiest girl in the world. For me, he is a great man of all time. I'm an ex-wife.
I'm a few. Over the next five years, the English school girl would come. I'm a member of Hitler's inner circle. I'm a member of Hitler's inner circle.
I'm a member of Hitler's inner circle. So tell us what happens next time. Well Unity started hanging out at every major Nazi event to me. And you can see it by the way.
You can see it by the way. You know, you see the footage of Hitler going into the monastery. And there's Unity. You're in a movie, a movie.
A movie. Yeah. Yeah. It was my fourth song.
Yeah. I mean, like, the one where the ground is, you see her there. You see her in a movie. You see her.
No, but she watched the Olympics from Hitler's private box in 36. Now, in a weird coincidence, Unity was conceived when her parents were panning for gold in Canada in 1914. And a little village called... It must have been the Canada term.
Oh, you can't see you drop that one on your own. I'll show you that all the time. Now, Hitler became smitten with this young blind British girl. And he was struck by a curious connection to the German culture, including her middle name.
Valkyrie to me. Ah, that it was like a German Nordic god or an ordinary god. Yeah. Now, Memphis Granddaughter Algenon, Freeman Mifford, have been a friend of Richard Wagner, one of Hitler's idols.
Now, together, Hitler and Unity hitler and Unity. They have two together. Perfect. Oh, me.
So I don't sound like something to me to me. But anyway, Hitler and Unity, how'd you get such a fuck-up name? Because it's just that normal name. What is Unity?
Valkyrie? Yeah. Yeah. It sounds pretty.
I'm going to draw you all together. I have a friend of the name, or another freedom. Freedom? Yeah.
But yeah, yeah, you're right. Well, that was a kid that went to school. My boy says real name was Diablo. Yeah.
I think I'm going to start going by Diablo. I think you're going to be working. I think you do need to keep to me. Don't come into double what it came on.
She's already made it. So anyway, Leslie, what was we at? Her interaction with Hitler made her even more fanatical to me. When he announced the Austrian Anchilas in 1938, she appeared with him on the balcony of Vienna.
When Nazi's start up from a student landed, she had to check us about you, Unity delivered Nazi propaganda and flies and just wanted to get us left. She's there. And she's there. I mean, you see pictures of her in the black shirt.
The SS black shirt. It's kind of creepy. Well, he got arrested by the Czech police, but Hitler got released. And many prominent Nazis were suspicious of her with her relationship to their furor.
In his memoirs, it's like their right. Yeah, right. Our spear set of this group, one tested a remit prevail. No one must mention politics.
The sole section of exception was Lady Mifford, who even in the ladies of International Tension persistently spoke of her country and often actually pleaded with Hitler to make a deal with Britain. In spite of Hitler's discouraging reserve, she did not abandon her efforts to all those years. But she's just giving her a nice. She wanted fascism to take hold of Britain.
And if she was torn up, that it was on the other direction when it looked like the two countries were going to go. We're going to go. We're going to go. We're going to go.
So Unity was wanted something to hit the second quarter. She continued to discuss possible German Britain alliance with Hitler. Going so far as the supplyless of potential supporters and enemies. Unity told Hitler that Hitler they could be counted on and who would have to be shot to me.
That's kind of a reason I should. I got my shot to be shot. There's no fear too. Meanwhile, it was relations between Germany and England deteriorated down.
