The Model Prayer #5 - Forgive Us as We Forgive

Jesus links asking for forgiveness with forgiving those who cause harm, making the Lord's Prayer deeply confronting. Christians do not become unforgiven whenever they sin. Christ's once for all sacrifice makes Christians clean, while ongoing confession is like washing dirty feet as His children continue growing to resemble Him. Persistent bitterness may show that a person has never received God's forgiveness.
