After graduation, he moved to South America to treat the indigenous people in the highlands of Peru before eventually moving back to the United States and opening a chiropractic practice with his wife in Danville, Ky. After 20 years of practice, they now own, manage and lead Bluegrass Chiro, which is the largest chiropractic organization in Kentucky with 13 locations. In his book, The Ultimate Chiropractic Practice, Dr. Short builds upon his decades of experience by offering practical tips for running a successful chiropractic office, advice about how to effectively manage patients, and suggestions for how to become a better leader. As Founding Dean Emeritus at Campbellsville University, Dr. Short has been instrumental in building and shaping a new model for chiropractic education.
