The Monastery Chapter 31 Part 2

In which two venerable friends, once united by letters and learning, meet again under the harsh constraints of their conflicting creeds, engaging in a solemn discourse on faith, conscience, and duty, each steadfast in that which they hold sacred. As the weight of their fate descends, the scene is charged with a blend of personal sorrow and unyielding resolve, interrupted abruptly by the urgent arrival of a young kinsman.
