The Moon Shakes! What happens in an earthquake? Under our feet, the ground shakes - on the Earth! What about moonquakes? Yup, the ground shakes on the moon! 發生地震的時候，我們腳下的地球震動。那月震呢? 沒錯，就是月球的地面發生震動! Why do moonquakes happen? The moon gets VERY hot during the day. This means it get a little bigger.* *The moon gets VERY cold at night. It gets a little smaller. The moon changes from hot to cold every afternoon. Moonquakes happen then! 為什麼會發生月震呢? 月球白天非常炎熱，月球會稍微膨脹。而夜晚非常寒冷，月球會因此收縮。每到下午，月球的氣溫從熱到冷，就會發生月震。 Scientists studied these moonquakes. They found very small moonquakes too. Why do these happen? Well, many years ago, the USA left a big rocket part there… 科學家研究發現月球也會發生一些微小的月震。為什麼會發生呢? 很多年前，美國在月球留下了一大塊的火箭零件。 It's made of metal. When metal gets very cold, it gets a little smaller.When metal gets very hot, it gets a little bigger.The rocket part changes from cold to hot every morning.Very small moonquakes happen then! 它是金屬做的，金屬會熱脹冷縮。每到早上，火箭零件由冷轉熱，就會發生微小的月震。 Scientists will take many things to the moon. When the heat and cold change there, what will happen to these things? Scientists will study this. 科學家將帶很多東西到月球去研究。他們會研究當月球的溫度發生變化的時候，這些東西會發生什麼事呢?
