The Most Dangerous Men Are the Pathetic Little Weakling Conservatives You Barely Notice

It should fill your heart with terror every time you share space with a soft-spoken dude who can’t even look you in the eye, but who can effortlessly step to a podium and lie.Those pathetic little weaklings you barely notice are the ones who inflict the most damage on the innocent.Our nation has fallen victim to the invisible threat. One of the things I often forget is that I’m six feet tall and weigh around 230 pounds. There’s a certain treatment you get when you’re that size and it’s sometimes called respect. Sometimes it’s called fear.The fact is, I don’t know what the world looks like from the perspective of a pathetic little conservative weakling. I don’t know the level of irritation they accumulate after being dismissed as a threat over and over and over.I’m aware enough to know that if I’m out walking at night and I see a woman approaching, that I should give her space. I should cross the street or go the other way. I try to be mindful not to make other people feel uncomfortable just from my very presence.But there are conservative men in our society who don’t understand that, and they come to hate the world and they want to see it destroyed.These are the kind of men who become overflowing vessels of ridiculous grievance. They’ve been told the only thing that matters is the “alpha” and they’re clearly not that, so their identity becomes fused with a ferocious sense of self-loathing.These are the type of men who disappear even when the spotlight is upon them. That’s why they can march up to a podium and defend pedophiles. Deep down they know that nobody is listening.Nobody ever listens.But they can inflict their pain on the innocent all the same.I remember kids like this in the classroom. They weren’t the bullies throwing spit wads and screaming curse words. They were the judgmental little jerks who sneered and smirked at the demise of others, and who desperately sought out the approval of the monstrous.They grew up to become hall monitors and youth pastors. They did everything they could to wrestle away a bit of authority which they could use to lord over others. The feeling of power is titillating for them since they never experience it in their natural state.Too often, these pathetic creatures seek higher and higher office. They snivel at the heels of more powerful masters knowing that they’ll never themselves wear the crown.Growing up, I was in a lot of classes with teachers who tried to mock me. That didn’t work out well for them because I got a lot of mockery at home. I was well-schooled in it. I’m a quick-witted person. These pitiful, weakling conservatives tried to humiliate me with coursework too, but that didn’t work out for them either. I was always a good student. They could never write a test that was too hard for me without having to fail every other student in the classroom as well.Come to think of it, that happened a few times. These monstrous conservatives get so focused on crushing somebody they perceive to be powerless that they get over their skis. There are bullies who are large, and bullies who are small.The large ones will challenge you to a fight.The small ones will plot against you for decades from the shadows.The small ones are infinitely worse.It’s a cultural problem that we’re well versed with how to handle the bullies that come after you and try to beat you up and take your lunch money. That type of bully essentially disappears by the time you’re done with school. But we don’t even talk about the other kind. The other kind of bully is worse. The are the plotting pathetic little self-loathing weasels that are so unremarkable you can’t even see them when they’re standing in a room full of people. Yet, they are so filled with corruption that they will dedicate the entirety of their existence to your destruction.That’s what we’re up against here. We don’t even recognize they’re out there.These are the type of men who are so pathetic that they abuse children so they can get a sense of what dominance feels like. They could never physically overpower an adult, so they become predators of the innocent. They are born from this country’s adulation of toxic rape culture and its adherence to “alpha” male patriarchy. They are an unfortunate side effect of the most deplorable philosophy ever devised from human beings.We have to stop pretending they don’t exist because they’re killing us.They’re more dangerous than bullies because early on they have to accept their physical inadequacies. So, they turn to mechanical assistance to increase their power. They become power hungry from an early age, and their scheming begins while the rest of us are still playing backyard football.They want authority, when they get it, they claim it was “God’s plan.”They hide behind any kind of monster. They stand behind the curtain and work the rest of us like marionettes.As for me, I deliberately avoid positions of authority. I didn’t even like that aspect of classroom teaching. I did my best to dismantle it. I always told my students that we were equals on a mutual quest for better understanding.Pathetic little weaklings scream at you if they catch you saying something like that. Authority is the only hope they have to soothe the sense of personal inadequacy that stems from their toxic ideology. Getting them to reject “patriarchal thinking” often provokes a temper tantrum.“You’re just mad because you’re a failure,” they scream. “Don’t question my deeply held sacred beliefs!”In saying that, they impose their flawed beliefs on the rest of us.They’re tormented by a sense of entitlement over all the things they feel they had been denied. In their sick fantasies, they see themselves as the rightful heirs to positions of power. But they can be mistaken for decent human beings because of their essential powerlessness. They use psychological torture rather than physical torture.“You’re a sinful person, you should get down on your knees and beg forgiveness. Aren’t you ashamed of who you are?”Again, we don’t even warn our children about this lurking danger. In fact, we more often scold our children when they come forward with warnings and accusations.“Oh, he couldn’t have done that. He’s a man of God. Shame on you for accusing him!”Weakling conservatives allow themselves to be tormented by their failure to capture an absurd fantasy that has no connection to reality. They have utterly convinced themselves that the pathway to happiness lies in becoming established as the ultimate, unquestionable authority.They want to be gods.But we are mortal, so their ideology is doomed to fail. They are never going to find satisfaction by forcing some unfortunate woman to spend her life 30 pounds underweight as an unpaid servant to all his perverse appetites.Forcing everyone you meet into servitude and obedience is no way to develop strong human bonds. They only want trauma bonds which are forged from abuse and difficult to break. They’ve given up on the hope that they can even have healthy relationships because they’ve indoctrinated themselves with the gospel of self-loathing.We’re stuck in a society that was largely conceived by these unintimidating, pitiful men. These are men who just go through life disregarded because they embody nothing other than the pinnacle of mediocrity.But some of them come from wealthy families. They have connections. They rise to the highest offices of the land to the detriment of all. Then they put their mediocrity on full display, and even then the country looks away.They’re so unremarkable that we can’t see them even when they’re alone on the stage. They deflect and deny and delay, and they force the innocent to take the blame.These are the skills they’ve learned over a lifetime of insignificance.When you watch them it doesn’t occur to you that this might be the person who is destroying the world. They seem like nothing. You don’t see them as a source of hatred and violence and pure evil. They’re more like a lukewarm bowl of tapioca pudding.These awful, awful mediocre men who have been conditioned with an ideology of grievance.The thing we have to remember is that even though these men are insignificant, the offices they steal are not.Though they are the physical embodiment of weakness, they do wield power and they do inflict damage. This kind of pathetic little weakling is going to continue their futile efforts until the end of their days, because no matter how much pain they inflict on the rest of us, they themselves will never be satisfied. They themselves will never be made whole.They can never remove the irritations that motivate them. So, we have to be less fixated on the obvious threats. Forget the physically hulking brutes with their guns and their masks. They are but pawns in a larger game.Consider instead the pathetic conservative men who are an afterthought in every room. They’re the brain stem sending the orders to kill and torture.Develop an awareness of the danger of the invisible lurking threats. These little men, these mediocre men who indoctrinate themselves with an ideology of grievance, and then claim they only act in god’s service.These wretched creatures who cling at the coattails of power and who wriggle out of the grasp of accountability even when it has them by the neck.
