The murder of Julia Niswender remains one of Michigan's most haunting cold cases. On December 11, 2012, the 23-year-old EMU student was found dead in her bathtub, her clothes cut off, and her apartment in disarray. Ligature marks on her wrists and DNA from two unknown males deepened the mystery. Her stepfather, James Turnquist, was named a person of interest but never charged. He passed two polygraphs and was acquitted of unrelated child porn charges. Today, twelve years later, her killer walks free, and her family still waits for justice. This is the story of a case that refuses to be solved.
