The Most Important Part of Marketing Your Art

from Creative Overflow with Jenny Kiehn · host Jennykiehn

In this episode, I'll be talking about the most important information you need to obtain for marketing your art. Unfortunately, I think this is what most artists miss. You must ask the people who love your art and buy it what they like about it. What inspired them to buy it? What about your art resonates with them? This is important because it might be different than you think. When I first started asking my followers and collectors, I was really surprised! To me, it's like you're putting a three dimensional object out in the world. You can see your side of it from your perspective, but your audience is seeing a totally different side of it from their perspective. You have to find out what they're seeing. This is the actual impact you are making in the world with your art. It's really important. When you find out what they enjoy about it, it will inspire further artwork, it will help you craft your content, it will help you design your website, it will inform the writing of your emails and it will help you figure out which organizations you can partner with. It's completely essential! In addition, you need to learn as much about your collectors as possible, but we'll talk about that next week!On Friday January 16th at 12:30pm ET, I'll be giving a free coaching class on how to develop an abundant mindset as an artist. If you're afraid to take the plunge in your art business, or are struggling with your business this will really help! I have an abundant life as an artist and I want to help other people achieve the same thing.
