The Most Surprising & Disappointing Movies of 2024!

2024 has now come and gone... which means it is time for my slew of end of the year rankings! 2024 was a huge year of change in my life and 2025 will continue to be so... but it will also likely be a year of huge change for the format of this podcast and my content creation, especially once we get towards the summer. However, it isn't quite that time yet so let's reflect on 2024! My annual best of the year list has been delayed until the end of January simply because there are too many films that had a wide U.S. release date in 2024 that I won't have a chance to see for a few weeks, because of delayed releases in both the U.K. and Asia. That's how you know the movies have truly bounced back! In the meantime, I'll be kicking things off with a double-header: my top 5 most surprising and top 5 most disappointing movies of 2024! I'll be starting off with my most disappointing and then ending this episode off on more of a positive note, with my most surprising films of the year. 2024 was a huge mixed bag of a year of movies, if you ask me, and this list definitely reflects that. These are NOT my least favorite and favorite films of the year, but rather films that fell short of and exceeded my expectations respectively.
