Our first review of 2026 takes us back to the Dakar Rally, the world's toughest motorsport event bar none. 13 stages over 15 days kick start the year as cars, bikes, and trucks attempt to navigate 7,900km of the rocky and sandy terrain of the Saudi Arabian desert.The Dakar Rally was my favourite "discovery" of our 2025 reviews. There is something truly magic about this journey and the cameraderie shared by all of the competitors, and yet the very real dangers of traversing a desert landscape always loom.
