OnJune 7, 2021, Alex Murdaugh murdered his wife Maggie and his son Paul at the family's Moselle hunting lodge in Colleton County, South Carolina. In 2023, a jury convicted him of that crime. The state introduced evidence of Murdaugh's many financial crimes at the trial.
