A chilling deep dive into one of Australia’s most infamous unsolved cases and the woman who bravely took on police corruption.Sallie-Anne was found in Busby’s Pond in Centennial Park on 6 February 1986 - forty years ago this month. It wasn’t until almost fortnight later her death was officially a murder - by strangulation - rather than misadventure. Her road to this brutal end began when her boyfriend Warren Lanfranchi was shot to death by Roger Rogerson in June 1981. She bravely took on Rogerson and others, in the media to seek justice for Warren and expose endemic corruption in NSW. Initially derided as a sex worker and heroin addict, she proved to be brave, articulate and fearless. The public listened. When her friend and fellow whistleblower Lynette Woodward disappeared, she kept up the pressure. Her work was a catalyst for media and public awareness of a stink in this state.
