Mookie is one of several new acts I regularly see playing around town who are very accomplished even though they are still babies (to me) coming through the music college system. It's a brilliant, inspiring little community, and it makes it a lot easier putting live music nights on when there are so many quality local acts out there earning their performing stripes who want to come and play and who also indulge my old ass when I am singing on the same bill.We had a lovely chat here where I live vicariously by asking all about what it's like going to Waterbear college to learn to be an independent artist.I think you can hear the envy dripping off me. Mookie also does three gorgeous acoustic tunes at the end so stay tuned.Her single 'Murmuring' is out on 21st February 2025, with a fancy video!
