SERMON DESCRIPTION Covenant is about agreement and agreement inevitably involves negotiation and even concession. You can actually agree to disagree and still be in covenant, or enjoy commitment and comradery. We don't have to go along to get along. We can mind many of the same things without necessarily having the same mind about everything. And such is the life and light of covenant community or covenant living! My favorite scriptural covenant is recorded as something Jesus said in the gospel of Luke 10:27 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind;" and "Love your neighbor as yourself" which suggests both vertical and horizontal covenant.
