Sometimes He changes what the situation is producing.The sea that appeared to trap Israel became their road to deliverance.The pit and prison that appeared to bury Joseph became part of the road toward his assignment.Midnight imprisonment could not silence worship, and confinement became an opportunity for the Gospel.And ultimately, the Cross reveals the greatest reversal of all: what appeared to be defeat became salvation, and what appeared to be the end was followed by resurrection.There is a phrase that echoes throughout this conversation:But God.The enemy may have an intention…but God.People may have a plan…but God.Circumstances may predict one outcome…but God.The chapter may appear finished…but God.This does not mean every painful circumstance will end exactly as we desire, nor does faith give us permission to manufacture outcomes or seek revenge. It means something greater:Our present circumstances are not sovereign. God is.And as long as God is still writing, we must be careful not to put a period where He has not finished the sentence.Perhaps reversal will not mean returning to yesterday. Perhaps God is doing something greater—breaking yesterday’s authority over tomorrow.So if you are standing in a chapter that appears to be moving in the wrong direction, hold onto this truth:The battle can change. The story can still change.
