The Mystery of Mercy

Mercy is one of life’s greatest mysteries. Have you ever wondered why, in the midst of a car crash, twenty people lose their lives, yet one emerges unharmed? The answer is mercy. Mercy is what sets you apart from others. That’s why a hundred people can be equally qualified for a position, and yet, only one is chosen. It’s not simply about effort or ability—it is, ultimately, about the mercy of God. The difference between the life of David and the life of Saul was one word, 'Mercy'. As Scripture reminds us, “It is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.” This begs the question: What is contained in mercy, and how can we continually walk in it?
