The Mystery of the Carnal Rain Incident

from Southern Fried Frights · host Southern Fried Frights

S2: E5 On March 11, 1876, the New York Times published a tongue-in-cheek article about an unusual weather event that had taken place on March 3rd at a farm in Bath County, Kentucky. A Mrs. Crouch while stirring her soap kettle in the yard experienced something so strange that it was almost beyond belief. The clear afternoon sky, unremarkable just moments before, began to rain down fragments of raw meat. It was as though nature had momentarily lost its senses. The Kentucky Meat Shower remains one of the strangest unexplained events in Kentucky history! Tonight's story was inspired by the publication "The Carnal Rain" March 16, 1876, edition of the New York Daily Herald—writer unknown. Please follow Southern Fried Frights on all major platforms, share, rate and leave a review.
