The Narrow Door

In Luke’s Gospel, there is a turning point where everything begins to move in one clear direction—Jerusalem. Luke 13:22 tells us that Jesus was “journeying toward Jerusalem,” and from that moment on, every teaching, every miracle, every conversation happens in the shadow of the cross. Jesus knows where He is going. He knows what awaits Him there. And yet, as He walks the road toward suffering, rejection, and death, He does not withdraw from people—He leans into them. He sends workers into the harvest, teaches His disciples how to pray, warns about the narrow way that leads to life, welcomes children others tried to push aside, and receives praise as King even when the crowd doesn’t fully understand the kind of King He is. This series traces Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem, not just as a physical path, but as a purposeful mission—showing us that the road to the cross was marked by compassion, invitation, urgency, and hope. As we walk with Jesus, we will see that following Him means embracing both the destination He died to accomplish and the ministry He calls us to live out along the way.
