The Nation State law: Who’s Afraid of a Jewish State with Equality for All?
from שיחות מלחמה · host המכון הישראלי לדמוקרטיה | Israel Democracy Institute
Israel was founded as the state of the Jewish people, so what is the problem with the nation-state law? "HaDemokratim" is going to discuss a proposed law which has already toppled one government, the echoes of which are being heard in the renewed debates over it in the Knesset. Our new series of podcasts asks experts IDI and from outside of the institute about the far reaching consequences of the nation-state law. In the first podcast Yohanan Plesner, president of the Israel Democracy Institute, and the two vice presidents, Prof. Yedidia Stern and Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer demonstrate how enacting this law will have far-reaching consequences on Israel's identity as a Jewish and democratic state.
