Notice a pattern?Names are propaganda. Not definitions.The Nazis slapped “socialist” in their name to steal working-class votes. To trick people into thinking they were for the people.They weren’t. They were for ruling over the people wtih an iron fist. Once they got power, the first thing they did was kill the actual socialists.What Nazis Actually DidIf you want to know what someone believes, don’t look at what they call themselves.Look at what they DO.Socialists nationalize industries.Nazis privatized them. Handed state enterprises to private corporations.Socialists empower unions.Nazis outlawed them. Arrested union leaders. Replaced them with state-controlled “labor fronts.”Socialists redistribute wealth.Nazis protected corporate power. Partnered with industrialists who got rich off the regime.The first concentration camp? Built for communists and socialists.The Night of the Long Knives? Hitler murdering the socialist wing of his own party because they actually believed the “socialist” part.Nazis allied with corporations and industrialists.That’s not socialism.That’s fascism.What Fascism Actually IsFascism is far-right authoritarianism. Here’s what it looks like:Extreme nationalism - “Germany for Germans, everyone else out”Corporate power protected - Major corporations partnered with the regime and profited massivelyMilitarism - Massive military buildup, glorification of violence and warAuthoritarian control - One leader, no dissent, total obedience demandedScapegoating minorities - Blamed Jews, immigrants, disabled people, and political opponents for Germany’s problemsThat’s not left-wing. That’s not socialist.That’s far-right Fascism. The exact opposite of socialism.Why Conservatives Keep Lying About ThisConservatives call Nazis “socialists” to avoid one very obvious fact:Nazis were what happens when the far-right gets power.And right now, MAGA looks a lot like early Nazi Germany:* Extreme nationalism ✓* Corporate-friendly policies ✓* Militarism and violence glorification ✓* One-man authoritarian cult ✓* Scapegoating immigrants and minorities ✓So they lie about history to avoid the comparison.If they can make you think “Nazis were actually left-wing,” then they don’t have to confront what their own movement is becoming.The Bottom LineFascism is what happens when the far right gets power.
