On this episode of Content Minded, I explore the concept of the sense of belonging in a cultural and sociopolitical context, especially in a post C-Vidian era. I bring together an excerpt from the Wang Huning book "America Against America" about the concept of commodification being a supplicant for governance, cultural output and the functions of a civilization. I then talk about Lyrics from the Death in June song "Touch Defiles" inspired by the Yukio Mishima book "Spring Snow", which describes this feeling of a calamitous lack of belonging within a civilization. Finally, in the full version I go in-depth on the works of Giorgio Agamben that were written during the global pandemic,and a very interesting thread on public measures, looking back on the mass psychology and biopolitics of those years, prompted by the recent congressional testimony of a certain head doctor of Italian descent.
