THE NEW MUTANTS (2020) Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch! | Anya Taylor-Joy | Maisie Williams

Michael & Brandon continue their X-Men journey with The New Mutants (2020), a horror-tinged superhero film that follows a group of young mutants held inside a mysterious facility while struggling to understand their powers and the traumatic events tied to their pasts. As fear, isolation, and hidden truths begin to surface, the film blends psychological horror, supernatural elements, and mutant mythology into a more contained and character-driven story within the X-Men universe. This continued reaction stands out for its darker tone, suspense-driven atmosphere, and unique genre shift for the franchise, as Michael & Brandon react to the film’s mysteries, mutant abilities, and emotional revelations in real time. Directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars, Stuck in Love, Lisey’s Story, Stand by Me adaptation work, romantic drama projects), the film stars Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Split, The Menu, Last Night in Soho), Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones, The Owners, Pistol, Early Man, Doctor Who), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things, Marrowbone, Shut In, No Future, As You Are), Blu Hunt (The Originals, Another Life, Earth Abides, independent horror projects, supernatural dramas), and Alice Braga (I Am Legend, Queen of the South, Predators, Elysium, City of God), bringing together a cast tied to major franchises, horror projects, and fan-favorite genre series that continue to drive strong reaction and crossover audience appeal. ___________________________________________________ We've got merch!
