The New "Name" Motif in the Teachings of Jesus (Contra Psychologized Identity)

The New Name motif denotes the new reality in Jesus.  The New Name bespeaks more than a verbal identifier.  The New Name defines the substantive new essence (new humanity) that God gives to those who are in Christ.  The New Name is founded upon the new being that we have received  through the finished work of Jesus.   The old man(ancient life), and its destructive ways have been done away through the washing of regeneration (new birth) accomplished by the Holy Spirit.
