SMPTE ST 2110 has moved beyond the early adopter phase. The question is no longer simply whether ST 2110 works. It is where does ST 2110 now make economic and operational sense? For years, ST 2110 was mostly reserved for major facility builds with the budget, engineering resources, and network infrastructure to match. That equation is starting to change. Lower cost endpoints, better SDI/IP gateways, JPEG XS, and more mature workflows are making IP production practical for more facilities.
