Send us a message The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will no longer send firearms kept for safekeeping to a lab for testing, according to a new policy.The move was made in response to an investigation that revealed the department provided data to the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for inclusion in a national database and sent every single gun to the ballistic lab for testing.Second Amendment advocate and gun rights attorney Mark Nicholson stated, "This change will dramatically impact anyone that had their guns taken by IMPD.
