The Night the Projectionist Stayed at the Beacon

from Empty Floor Twelve — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

June 1987, just outside Carter's Mill, Virginia. A flickering motel sign reads 'Beacon' but the neon is broken into just 'Beacon', the 'B' and 'a' dead. Luna was driving back from a funeral when she stopped at the Beacon Motor Court, a place that looked like it hadn't had a guest in years. The night clerk was a woman named Edith, who didn't seem surprised to see her. Edith gave her a room at the far end, Room 7, and warned her not to turn on the television after midnight. But the television turned on by itself, and it wasn't showing static—it was showing a man, sitting in a chair that looked exactly like the one in Luna's room. He was watching her. The projectionist, Edith called him later, a man who died in 1972 when the motel's old film projector caught fire. He's been projecting his last night over and over, and if you watch too long, you become part of his reel. Luna spent the night with the television unplugged, but in the morning, the cord was plugged in again, and the screen was warm. #BeaconMotorCourt #CartersMill #Virginia #TheProjectionist #MotelHorror #AnalogHorror #VintageTelevision #EdithTheClerk #Room7 #DeadFilmProjector #FilmReel #LunaAlone #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #SoloNarration #SlowBurn #Atmospheric #NoSleepStories Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
