The Night the Whistle Found Me at Red Bluff Crossing

from Lighthouse Logs — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

In the autumn of 2019, I drove a rental car through the Nebraska Sandhills at two in the morning, chasing a story I'd heard from an old railroad man in a bar in North Platte. He told me about a whistle that blows at Red Bluff Crossing long after the last train stopped running in 1972. I didn't believe him. But I drove out anyway, following a dirt road that dead-ended at a crossing with no gates, no lights, no tracks visible under the prairie grass. What I found there—what I heard—changed how I think about sound, and memory, and the things we leave behind. Not a ghost story, exactly. More like a story about a sound that refused to stop. #RedBluffCrossing #NebraskaSandhills #LighthouseLogs #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #Railroad #WhistleInTheNight #VanishedTracks #Autumn #RentalCar #PrairieDark #SoundHoarder #NorthPlatte #OldManMeadows #1972 #TrainWhistle #WhatRemains #Unsettling Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
