Specialness is the key defense; Spirit must “get him away from her.” She is like a drug, as are his family and friends. In order to cover up his drug of choice he hides himself in addictions, a rebel attitude, and his work. Finally he learns the difference between what is true and what is false. His world begins to unravel and the truth is revealed.
