Norm Murray speak with Canadian Film Director, Mia Donovan, about her new documentary film, “DOPE IS DEATH “, premiering at the Hot Docs Festival, online NOW through to mid June. In the 1970's, the number of heroin addicts exploded in New York and the Black Panther Party saw the epidemic as a form of chemical warfare against the poor and people of colour. Fed up with inaction, Dr. Mutulu Shakur (Tupac's stepfather) and others launched a radical harm reduction program to treat heroin addiction - with acupuncture.
