This has made them exceptional leaders, diplomats, and, of course, conductors. The proliferation of the Nordic brand of music, forged by geographical circumstances, is not dissimilar from that of the Caribbean, save for a critical difference. The governments of the Nordics saw the potential in this cultural output, not just as a revenue source, but as a way to better the everyday life of their citizens.
